Purchasing Coordinator

Job Summary: The Purchasing Coordinator gathers data required to make the best value choice on material purchases in order to keep the NCC direct labor force working on schedule. The Purchasing Coordinator manages purchase orders, places orders with vendors and monitors the receiving dashboard. In addition, the Purchasing Coordinator performs cycle counts and assists with inventory levels and accuracy.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Associates' degree or similar training.
• 3+ years' experience in a related work experience with inventory control and purchasing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must have strong attention to detail, strong communication, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Requires a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Manages most issues related to purchased material including disposition, replacements, and credits with direction from Purchasing Manager.
• Runs status reports for various inventory items, identify and communicate negative or insufficient inventory coverage.
• Manages and orders inventory of all items associated with the department including safety items, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) items and indirect materials.
• Creates, sends, tracks, and updates purchase order information.
• Uses ERP system (Enterprise Requirements Planning) for direct material requirements, ensuring the right quantity of the correct material is in the exact time when need and purchased from the correct vendor.
