Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Follows through on conceptualized new product ideas by using 2D/3D CAD/CAM software to develop prototypes.
• Fabricates prototypes for validation and verification of specifications.
• Tests products throughout the design process to troubleshoot any potential problems.
• Samples different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors to find the best ones that suite the new product requirements.
• Fine-tunes designs until they are ready for both short run and production products.
• Delivers product specifications and procedures to the manufacturing team for production purposes.
• Documents Bill of Material's ((BOM) and routing.
• Develops quality control criteria and safety guidelines and ensuring that all team members adhere to them.
• Maintains source code information and structure for all CNC manufacturing equipment.
• Maintains tooling libraries and structure for all capital equipment such as laser, NC turret, tube benders, etc.
• Designs standard manual fixtures.
• Designs robotic welding fixtures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in product development.
• Industry-specific product experience is preferred.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and report writing programs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent math, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have excellent attendance and be able to work extended hours before and after shift.
• Has excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Must be flexible, assertive, stress tolerant, and optimistic.
