Planning and Inventory Control Manager

The Planning & Inventory Control Manager is responsible for effective production planning and scheduling of the plant and overall inventory accuracy. The span of responsibility encompasses capacity planning, sales order dating, work order creation to meet material requirements planning (MRP) and master production schedule (MPS) demands, schedule validation, schedule maintenance, inventory control and bills of material (BOM). The Planning & Inventory Control Manager develops and implements effective planning and inventory controls processes throughout the business.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of related supply chain work experience.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Expert user level of MRP system for transactional activities, master data setting, and analysis in a manufacturing setting with thousands of SKU's.
• Must have experience with raw, work in progress, and finished goods inventory management.
• Must have experience in production scheduling and capacity in a manufacturing environment using a full function MRP system.
• American Production and Inventory Control (APICS) certification or other formal sales and operating planning training preferred

Responsibilities:

• Maintains an accurate MRP system setting of NCC labor and machine capacity constraints.
• Works with Plant Manager and Human Resources for weekly headcount update availability, hiring needs and overtime planning.
• Computes and publishes a work center capacity plant based on demonstrated departmental labor productivity for an 8-week production window.
• Analyzes work orders and other demand data for capacity planning purposes for both production headcount and work center bottleneck planning.
• Executes daily sales order dating.
• Measures, monitors and reacts to re-dating when customers are not able to accept proposed ship dates.
• Develops plans to reduce gap between order request dates and order promise dates.
• Reviews demand and creates a schedule of work orders to achieve sales order finished good needs.
