Business Unit Manager

Job Summary: The Business Unit Manager is responsible for managing the entire operations for the Amazon Cart Repair project for all three NCC locations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 3+ years of direct supervisory experience in a production or distribution environment.
• Transportation/logistics experience with managing truck traffic and carrier communication.
• Direct customer communication or account management skills and experience.
• Previous exposure to Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is preferred.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Executes the repair schedule with production teams across three National Cart plants.
• Communicates directly with Amazon team for work planning, and all necessary reporting and data collection.
• Establishes best practices and standard work for repair activities including fixtures, tools, and visual management following Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Documents written training manuals.
• Plan for the manpower needed and works with HR ensure that staffing is executed.
• Continuously monitors team staffing and training status.
• Coordinates and executes inbound and outbound truck traffic and trouble shoots transportation issues with carriers and the customer. This includes managing total trailer counts on site across all NCC facilities to avoid overloading.
• Ensures accurate and timely data collection on repair activities.
• Trains and monitors cart scan data for compliance and accuracy.
• Plans for repair materials using NCC's ERP system (IQMS).
• Supports spare parts preparation for shipment to Amazon facilities.
• Coordinates with outside vendors for removal of recycled material (metal and plastic) to enable smooth operations and minimize expense.
• Travels to plants as required for support.
• Travels to customer facilities as required to understand customer operations and provides on-site support as needed.
