3rd Shift Turret - Amada Operator

Description:        Maintain a safe work environment in department for compliance with OSHA, company and other necessary rules and regulations. Setup and operate Trumpf Laser machine safely, productively, and ergonomically correct while manufacturing quality parts and assemblies.  Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, area, paperwork and drawings. Actively participate in lean initiatives and demonstrate continuous improvement. Works all jobs in department, as needed and trained on. Associate will help out in other areas, as needed.

Requirements: Equivalent to high school diploma plus additional specialized training provided by company, extended hours before and after shift as required, knowledge of setup, preventive maintenance and trouble shooting of laser machines. Must adhere to company regulations and follow Code of Conduct.

Daily Tasks:

• To be completed with instruction from supervisor.

• Able to follow the instructions given to them.

• Select correct program, setup and operate Amada machine to produce quality parts.

• Insures poor quality parts are reworked prior to delivery to either internal or external customers.

• Associate must be able to work well with others; has a team attitude.

• Capable of working in a safe and organized manner.

• Must keep work area clean and neat; complete daily cleaning schedules; maintain company 5S.

• Verify first piece quality for all jobs run.

• Complete process monitor for all jobs run. Run jobs at standard or better rates.

• Capable of trouble shooting most common issues with Amada.

• Capable of switching out tooling in turret as required.

• Complete Operator P.M checklist weekly.

• Maintain inventory of Amada tooling.Daily Tasks Level 2: In addition to above tasks.

• Schedule major maintenance work with the Maintenance Department.

• Ability to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of Amada tooling.

• Keeps machine in top condition.

• Produces high quality parts with minimal rejects. Has ability to identify quality versus poor quality Amada punching.

• Continuously produces at a high level of productivity (80% + given rate), with some supervision.

• Has a growing knowledge of products. Daily Tasks Level 1: In addition to above tasks.

• Has completed 3rd party training on Amada operation, preventative maintenance and programming.

• Capable of creating new programs for new or existing products

• Capable of trouble shooting most rare issues with Amada machine.

• Capable of trouble shooting most common issues with programs.

• Operates at top productivity level with safe operation. Properly sets up area for maximum efficiency.

• Continuously produces at a high level of productivity (90% + given rate), with very little supervision.

• Product knowledge has ability to produce products from layouts. Knows model number and what the components requirements are.
