3rd Shift Production Lead

Description:
Responsible for overall operation within assigned area. Earnestly adhere to and uphold plant policies and procedures for National Cart Co. Lead is accountable for safety, quality, and productivity within assigned area. Foster a well-trained and motivated workforce. Assume duties of Product Category Manager (PCM) in PCM's absence, and assist in the following, but does not personally give associate disciplinary actions, reviews, merit increases, etc. without the approval of PCM. Does assign associates to work areas and give out assignments and expectations when authorized to do so by PCM. The Lead works all jobs in department, as needed, when not acting as lead person. Lead operates at Level 1 competency for all department positions.

Requirements:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Must provide positive leadership and support the company's goals through the efficient use of personnel.

Daily Tasks: To be completed with instruction from Supervisor

• Has a team attitude; is a leader by example.
• Completes daily work schedules. Working from schedule assign tasks to associates.   Reports to Supervisor if the production schedule is not being met. Communicate with other departments to ensure schedule success.
• Schedule major maintenance work with the Maintenance Department
• Ability to interpret and read prints to verify first piece quality for all jobs run. Retrieve engineering drawings, compare drawing to ERP - IQMS, notify Engineering immediately of any discrepancy, check 1st piece to drawing, communicate frequency of inspection to operator and return drawing to proper location upon completion of the run per set up.
• Responsible for accuracy of data capture of every task being performed via ERP or special manufacturing order. Confirm paper work is 100% complete, accurate, legible and returned to appropriate area immediately upon completion of the run per set up.
• Completes Incident Reports with Manager approval
• Responsible for inventory of all items associated with the department (i.e. raw materials, consumable items, etc). Ensures that associates fill out job Process Monitors correctly. Ensures that all material requisition forms are filled out accurately and turned in daily.
• Has excellent product knowledge ability to insure parts/product are made per specifications; knows finished goods model numbers; knows how to look up the parts that are required to make the assembled product.
• Communicate safety, quality and productivity expectations, and then follow up to inspect expectations periodically. Ensures that all associates are performing at the level at which they are rated, including checking and recording process monitors for accurate completion. Notifies the PCM if someone in the department is operating above or below their rated level. Commends associates for a good job and communicates issues for unsatisfactory work performed. Through the PCM, recommends disciplinary action and commendations.
• Make sure jobs are set up and ready to go for the next day's work schedule.
• Must keep work area clean and neat; complete daily cleaning schedules; maintain company 5S score.
• Perform as production associate when all other tasks are complete
• Conduct associate training and cross-training within department
• Close out orders at the end of the business day / Issues requirements daily.
